Specializes in Individual & Adolescent Therapy
Thank you so much for taking the courageous step to seek out help!
I attended Elon University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Human Services minor, then went on to get a Master’s degree in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill. I have worked in a variety of settings doing individual and group work with children, adolescents, and adults, including a domestic violence shelter, a psychiatric hospital, and community mental health agencies.
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. My passion is helping adolescents and adults find peace, direction, and hope through developing a better understanding of their challenges, building on their strengths, and setting healthy boundaries with others. I am solution-focused in my approach and employ Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) practices to help each client learn new skills to rebuild relationships and tolerate distress while learning how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. I help survivors of trauma heal from their pain using the Trauma-Focused CBT model. At the heart of my work is my belief in the strength of a therapeutic relationship, and that it’s important for everyone to be heard, validated, and understood.
