Deanna has been working in the social work field since 2017. She graduated from University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and received her Master’s Degree in social work from Hunter College in New York City. She has experience working in various settings such as residential treatment centers, non-profit organizations, domestic violence shelters, and inpatient hospitals.
Deanna’s primary focus is trauma-informed therapy, relationship attachments and self-regulation in children, teens, adults and families. She aims to create an open and collaborative environment for clients to express their authentic selves. She is training to become a Registered Play Therapist, and she integrates play, sand, and art into her sessions. Her goal is to guide her clients through coping with the past by developing resiliency and promoting healing for the future.
