Whatever you are struggling with – emotional, relationship, social or psychological difficulties – you don’t have to do that alone. Your therapist will guide and support you as you gain a deeper understanding of the connection between your emotions and behaviors. This allows you to gain insight into yourself, bolsters your ability to solve problems and will help you manage your emotional responses in a healthy and effective way.
Typically, this type of counseling relies on talk therapy. But at Horizon, we also rely on more expressive forms such as art therapy and sand tray therapy.
One size does not fit all, and the latest research supports using sensory approaches to emotional regulation and well-being.
Your therapist will meet with you regularly – weekly sessions are most common, though you may need to schedule appointments more or less frequently – and work with you to create a treatment plan. In other words, you are an equal part of this process from the moment we begin to see you. Each treatment plan is unique based on a person’s needs.
Taking the first step can be hard. It can also be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make.
